Chairman's Statement
In preparation for the
2010/11 season we are pleased to announce that Lukas Smital will continue
in his role of BIHC Head Coach. In his first season Lukas has seen the
club continue to improve on its success of previous seasons and we are now
looking ahead to next season.
The BIHC Executive
Committee would like to wish former Hornets coach Gareth Cox all the best
in his new role as Bracknell Bees Head Coach following his recent
appointment. Gareth has worked alongside Lukas over the last few seasons
and turned the Hornets into a major force in the ENL South League
culminating in winning the 2009/10 Play Off Final against Wightlink
Raiders. Over the last season he has introduced a number of BIHC U18
players into his squad and helped the development of BIHC juniors into
senior hockey. We look forward to continuing to work with Gareth in
producing talent for the next generation of Bracknell Bees players.
Gareth was also the U18
(Drones) coach at Bracknell. It gives us great pleasure to announce that
this position for 2010/11 season has been handed to current U16 Coach, Ben
Pitchley. Ben joined BIHC at the start of 2009/10 season and his team
finished a credible third in the U16 South A league. Ben is looking to
match Gareth’s achievement of taking his squad to the U18 National Finals
again.
We are also pleased to
announce that current U14 coach Mitchell Stead will move up to U16’s and
U12 Coach Jon Smith will move to U14’s. Both Mitch and Jon have won the
South A League at their current age group and will be hoping to have
further success at the National Finals in May. We are confident that they
will continue to have success in the older age groups that they take on.
Announcements regarding
coaches for all other age groups will be made in due course but in the
meantime all coaching will be overseen by Lukas until coaches are
officially appointed.

Swarm - Help for Heroes
The
U12(2) team, The Swarm, managed to raise £1,130 for Help for Heroes, their
chosen charity.
A representative came to the Swarm's
final 2009/2010 training session to receive their cheque.

The Bracknell Hummers are U14(South) league winners.
They went to the Nationals in Sheffield
The Hummers Tournament, Bracknell 29th, 30th and 31st May 2010

A 9-2 win over Cardiff crowned the Bumblebees Winners
of the EIHA U12(1) South League -

Swarm

We were supported by family and friends and secured monies so that every
single penny raised through programmes, raffles etc went to
Help for Heroes.
